There were over fifty decorated ‘book’ doors in school for World Book Day 2019 and they looked amazing. The book doors makeover was organised by our librarian Mrs Smith and library monitors. Thanks to our amazing form teachers and students for their wonderful book door designs, the school was full of colour and books.

We were amazed at the creativity shown by our students and the range of ideas you had for decorating your doors to celebrate World Book Day.

We asked Leaders of Teaching and Learning to pick the winners. Whilst there were lots of wonderful entries, second place was awarded to 9VB with their ‘Where’s Wally’ door and the overall winners were 9DC with their amazing Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets door.

The English department were also on fine form, raiding their costume boxes for World Book Day 2019. Characters included wizards, chimney sweeps and mad queens, all in the name of promoting reading and literacy.
