Farah House

Farah House

My name is Mr Tipping. I can proudly say that I am the Head of Farah house. Mo Farah has to be one of the most inspirational athletes to have represented our fine country. Mo started life in the capital of Somalia, Mogadishu. His early years were very tough as he lived through extreme famine and poverty. He left Somalia at the age of 11 and he and his family settled in the U.K.

Mo Represented Great Britain in the 2012 Olympics and became the first man in history to win Gold in both the 5,000 and 10,000 meter races. Mo Farah demonstrates determination, strength, character and endeavour in all aspects of his life. I feel confident in saying that these qualities are ones that we hold dear in this house and indeed within the walls of Eckington School.

We have a very strong commitment from our students within all areas of the house system and out participation is one of the reasons we are so successful. Along with my House Captains, we hope to achieve further wonderful results to firmly secure us as the top of the House points table.

Here at Farah House we try to use Mo Farah as an inspiration and a driving force for success. Our motto is “Achieving Together” and I feel that we have successfully created a house who’s members support one another and who strive to be the best they can be.

“Work hard. Nothing comes easy. If you have a dream – stick at it.” – Mo Farah 2013
